EXAMPLES: The "LISA'S BARN" bridle rack shown below was created using a horse head from our Standard Wall Art selections along with additional criteria specified by the customer. The faux barn windows (above) and the 3345 address sign (below) were both created from a hand drawn sketch. The deer antlers, tapestry topper, Palace of Versaille headboard topper, and "DUKE 13" dog profile wall hanging are all replicas created from pictures and photographs. The "nb" Noiseblock music studio sign was created to match the clients logo. The two music wall art designs ("KALEB" and "RHEA") were both fabricated by working from a customer provided .AI (Adobe Illustrator) file. "PRIVATE DRIVE", "The Caseys", and the "PERRY" and "PAULK" mathematics signs were all created by the design team here at Alabama Metal Art using only a verbal description provided from the customer.

DESIGN INFO: We can create your custom metal work piece using a logo, or base it on something we have done in the past, or start completly from scratch using your design ideas. The more information you can provide the better we can meet your needs. Logos and design concepts can be e-mailed to info@alabamametalart.com in the following formats: AutoCAD (DWG or DXF) files, Adobe Illustrator (.AI) files, or standard image files (JPG, BMP, etc...).

PRICING: Pricing for most custom work generally begins at $150 and goes up from there based on size, complexity of design, and finish. Each custom metal work piece is quoted on an individual basis. The custom work shown on this page demonstrates a wide range of possibilities from very simple to very complex -- with the exception of the 10' x 9' Privacy Gates the pricing for the examples shown on this page range from $80 up to around $1000.

1-PIECE, 2-PIECE, OR LAYERED: With the exception of fireplace screens, garden gates, and business signs, most of the custom signs and wall hangings we create are fabricated from a single sheet of metal. This "1-piece" design concept must be considered when creating a new design (examples: many of the parts shown above including: faux barn windows, "PRIVATE DRIVE", tapestry topper, "Moose Room" door sign, Palace of Versaille headboard topper, "CAROL SELL" auction house sign, etc...). 1-piece designs are generally cut from 12 gage steel sheet, which is a little less than 1/8" thick, we have found that this offers the best compromise between durability and weight. On larger signs, or orders with multiple layers, we sometimes uses other material thicknesses as necessary (thinner material when weight is an issue, thicker material with strength is a concern). We can also add a back plate with a contrasting color to create a "2-piece" design giving the piece more depth and dimension (examples: "Panel for inset wall", "3345" address sign, "DUKE 13" dog sign). Similarly we can create a layered look by mounting letters and other components as separate pieces onto a backplate with a separate color. The raised components with contrasting colors creates a very unique look (examples: "KALEB" music wall art, "The Farm...", and the "nb" Noiseblock logo sign).
